The George Oliver Foundation raises money to fund projects that help improve the lives of disadvantaged children in the UK and abroad. Each year we fund a range of projects supporting children and young people in areas including health and education. We are 100% voluntary and any costs that arise are covered by us (George's parents). We have a panel of six trustees and each year in February we review all new applications and go through a vote and selection process, detailed here.
We try to support projects that may not otherwise be able to go ahead, often with small charities, and we look for organisations that may not have big visibility or a large fundraising pool.
We set up The George Oliver Foundation in 2010 in loving memory of our son George Richard Namiki Oliver.
George died suddenly of a rare illness in 2009 when he was 14 months old. This is our way of maintaining something positive in George's name and turning our sadness into something better.
The George Oliver Foundation strives simply to raise funds to improve the lives of disadvantaged children in any way that we can. We hope to help as many children as we can to have the love and support that George had. We hope you share these goals and values with us and that through The George Oliver Foundation we are giving you a clear and effective opportunity to make the absolute most of any charitable giving that you do.
There are some incredible organisations out there doing difficult and important work to change the lives of children and through The George Oliver Foundation we want to channel support to those places where it can be used to great effect. With your help The George Oliver Foundation will always do whatever it can to make a difference to the children who need it. You can read all about current projects here
